This tour is unmatched
for value. We were picked up at our hotel and taking to our boat. You should
use the one on site before going on the boat. The snorkeling is not the
clearest but the water is lovely to swim in. We still saw don’t cool stuff and
you have a long time to swim. Then you take a shorter ride to the beach with a
gorgeous view, no other people, to eat your meal. We had a bottle of wine to
share and the food was delicious. We are vegetarians and had plenty to eat. If
we come back to Koh Samui, we will use this tour again.

Koh Samui Weather And
Seasons
People come in their
thousands to Koh Samui each year for their holidays and one of the major
reasons is the great weather. Koh Samui weather delivers an average of 6.7
hours of sun each day. All this sun combined with the beautiful warm sea and
sand delivers the perfect holiday combination.
The weather in Koh
Samui can best be described as typical tropical monsoon climate. Generally
humidity is quite high and average temperatures average around 27.5 °C (or 84
°F). This means that you will find that the weather is generally good whatever
time of year you visit and rest assured you are very unlikely to feel cold. Due
to its location in the gulf of Thailand, Samui's weather is relatively dry in
comparison to Phuket and most of Southern Thailand.
Koh Samui Water

Warm seawater
temperature is one of the big attractions of a holiday on the island. The sea
around Koh Samui stays quite constant throughout the year at a very comfortable
29 °C.
Three Seasons Of Koh
Samui Weather
Whilst the weather
does get a few degrees hotter in the summer and a few colder in the winter the
changes are not that dramatic. However there are three distinct weather seasons
on Koh Samui. These are the dry season (December until February), the hot
season (March until August) and the rainy season (September until November).
Koh Samui Dry Season
December - February is
usually considered as the dry season. In this period the island has slightly
cooler temperatures, a small amount of rain and light winds which makes for
calm seas. For many visitors this is thought of as the best time to come.
Hotels usually have this as the peak season.
Koh Samui Hot Season
March - August is the
hotter season on Samui. The weather is still dry in this period, typically very
sunny and hot. For visitors who like to bask in the sun this is a great period
to visit.
Koh Samui Rainy Season
September - November
is the the monsoon season. The weather will remain hot and visitors can expect
plenty of sunny days. However on some days you will experience monsoon showers.
These rain showers are often short but intense lasting for 20 to 60 minutes
only.
Koh Samui (Samui Island)

plenty of fun activities. This cosmopolitan beach destination attracts a wide
range of visitors, from budget travellers staying in simple beachside bungalows
to the wealthiest holidaymakers enjoying the luxury of one of the many 5-star

How to Get Around Koh Samui: Your Best Options
for Island Transport
How do you get around Samui?
Wondering how to get around Koh Samui? You’ve
got lots of options depending on where you’re starting from and where you want
to go. In brief, your wheeled options include a rental car, taxi or a
ride-sharing service like Grab (aka Thailand’s Uber), a songthaew (see below
for explanation – and pronunciation), or a scooter or motorbike (I don’t
recommend this due to safety concerns).
Myself, I prefer rental cars or hired drivers
and would never (ever) get on a scooter as a driver or passenger. As for
walking, it might be possible but might not be (A) safe or (B) a good idea
depending on the heat, humidity, and hills required. As ever, The Koh Samui
Guide is your best bet to fully understand the island, and its layout, and to
arrive as a total expert.
Ko Samui has a
distinct culture that is the product of it earliest settlers: Chinese and
Muslim fishermen, a Japanese occupation, and its current status with Thailand.
The island always has and still does thrive on a hard work ethic, agriculture
being the top source of income. Farmers work vigorously year-round to upkeep
the coconut plantations.
Buddhism continues to be the major religion and
Buddhist temples and shrines on Ko Samui are impressive:
Wat Phra Yai is a giant Buddha Temple with the
famous "Big Buddha" in gold sitting above the temple
Khunamram Temple has a mummified monk
More notable temples on Ko Samui include:
Wat Plei Leam
Coral Buddha
The Leam Sor Chedi
Wat Sila Ngu
Wat Sumret
Buddha's Footprint
Please note that respectable clothing must
always be worn in temples, beachwear is not acceptable.
Temple fairs take place throughout the year and
are just traveling markets. The larger fairs have live music and entertainment
but the general purpose is to buy new goods.
Buffalo fighting is a favorite pastime for the
natives of the island. It can be hard to track down the dates and times of
these fights but they usually take place in designated stadiums, those who are
interested must find out through word of mouth.
The people of Ko Samui can be labeled as
laid-back and relaxed. Bar culture exists at a modest level and locals enjoy
sipping back drinks in country-type bars where tourists are also welcome.
